The publication of our third Corporate Social Responsibility Report accurately reflects our main actions to leverage social and environmental sustainability processes.
The year 2008 was a milestone because we successfully integrated the operations of Quest and Givaudan in a transparent and harmonious way, improved the communication channels, especially the ones regarding the Social Policies certification.
This was critical to keep the integration from becoming a major issue that would divert our attention from our core activity since several policies and processes had to be improved to enable us to make Givaudan into a unique company, even stronger, more united and prepared for the future.
There are reasons to be proud of what we accomplished. Along the year 2008 we kept total focus on our customers as we counted on the support of our suppliers and third parties as well as on the dedication of the whole team of Givaudan.
Even with all the activities we were involved with, we did not neglect our goals and responsibilities to the environment and to society at large. It is our ambition that the whole production chain in which we are inserted become aligned with the goals and values that we share and that this may be perceived by our customers as a factor of differentiation. It’s important to point out that most of our customers are already committed to improving their social and environmental indicators and that is a condition for them to keep on being Givaudan’s partners.
We believe that the challenges set by the world economy will demand an extra effort in 2009. However we are confident that we will succeed, as the foundations that inspire our conduct are the elements to consolidate Givaudan Brazil as the undisputable leader in all the segments where we have a presence and we always work in a way that is ethical, sustainable, with committed employees and partners who are proud of belonging to the best and largest fragrance and flavour manufacturer in the world.
