Government and Society
Year after year, Givaudan has been working to maintain and improve its relationships with government and society by supporting projects approved by the Rouanet Law, preparing and publishing its Social Responsibility Report and taking other citizenship actions towards the community and its internal public.
Understanding that voting is an important role of the citizens, in 2008, before the municipal elections, the Company carried out the Citizen Vote campaign.
The campaign related the Eight Millennium Goals to the elections for mayor and city counselors and their jobs. The campaign had the objective of educating the internal public to use their votes to help minimize some world public problems represented in the eight goals.
The Eight Millennium Goals were approved in the year 2000 by 191 UN countries, including Brazil, as a commitment to improving social and environmental conditions in the world by 2015.

The Eight Millennium set specific objectives to:
- Eradicate extreme hunger and Poverty
- Achieve universal primary education
- Promote gender equality and empower women
- Reduce child mortality
- Improve maternal health
- Fight AIDS, malaria and other diseases
- Ensure environmental sustainability
- Develop a global partnership for development

The Company realizes that there is a lot to be done in this item and has committed itself to more effective actions such as the citizen vote campaign in 2008.
