Givaudan’s Social Responsibility Policy
Givaudan is a socially responsible company and thus its mission is:
- To support and develop actions that benefit society, community and employees thus contributing to the sustainable development in social, economic and environmental aspects.
- To provide a working environment that is safe, healthy, and promotes employees’ personal and professional growth.
- To meet SA 8000 requirements, the United Nations Convention on Children’s Rights, the Universal Statement of Human Rights, national laws and the principals subscribed by Givaudan.
- To improve relationships with suppliers, encouraging them to adopt social responsibility practices regarding their employees and society.
- To seek continuous improvement of its Social Responsibility Management System. Every year, after filling out and submitting Ethos Institute’ questionnaire regarding 40 indicators, Givaudan receives a comparative report on its score in each one of the seven themes suggested by Ethos Institute. The objective of this report is to enable the Company to compare its own performance with that of other organizations and then think about ways of improving it and becoming even more sustainable.
The table below shows the comparison of Givaudan’s score with those of all the companies that make up Ethos Institute data bank, which have answered the same questionnaire. Besides that, Ethos Institute also discloses the scores of benchmark group, which is made up of companies that have been ranked as top ten in overall performance.
